- Evaluarea 1
Assessment 1: Research and Documentation Practice
This assessment targets the practice of research and documentation and represents the first mandatory stage in the master's thesis development process.
Participation in Assessment 1 is essential in order to continue with Assessment 2 and Assessment 3.Objectives: the objectives of the assessment are to conduct thematic documentation to establish the theoretical foundation of the research, critically identify and analyze the research problem, define research objectives, justify the proposed methodology, and collect, process, and analyze relevant data.
The student must upload the following to the Moodle platform in the course IS.M.PC24.1 Research Practice:
The weekly completed practice notebook, reflecting the activities performed and research progress; the research practice report, drafted according to academic requirements, in PDF format. Both documents must be validated by the scientific supervisor prior to evaluation.The final grade for Assessment 1 will be calculated based on the following components:
- Weekly completion of the practice notebook;
- Research practice report drafted according to academic standards;
- Supervisor’s approval regarding the progress and quality of research activities;
- Evaluation by the research practice committee based on the research report.
Each component contributes proportionally to the final grade according to the established criteria.
Information Note
In this activity, it is not necessary to upload any documents.
Only the final grade for research practice, corresponding to the course IS.M.PC24.1 Research Practice, will be displayed.
This grade will be automatically recorded in the course dedicated to the practice and will be part of the student's overall evaluation.

Assessment 2: Thesis Development (Intermediate Progress)
This assessment aims to verify the stage of development of the master's thesis and to confirm the progress made in both theoretical and practical aspects.
Participation in this assessment is essential in order to access the final evaluation stage and the public defense of the thesis.Assessment Objectives: The objectives focus on consolidating the theoretical chapters of the thesis, starting the development of the practical component, or formulating a clear proposed solution, as well as organizing the content into a logical and complete structure, even if not all chapters are fully finalized. It also aims to correlate the materials completed with the initially proposed objectives and to identify necessary adjustments for finalizing the thesis.
Student Requirements: The student must submit a complete draft of the thesis, organized according to the final thesis structure (chapters and subchapters). The draft may include partially developed sections or detailed outlines. The document must contain the theoretical part completed up to this point and the description of the proposed solution along with initial experimental results obtained. The draft must be uploaded to the Moodle platform in PDF format and must clearly reflect the logical organization of the thesis, the progress made to this stage, and the consistency and coherence with the defined objectives.
Final Grade: The final grade for Assessment 2 will be calculated based on the supervisor’s approval, the evaluation of the progress report, and the student's presentation in front of the evaluation committee.
Presentation Instructions
During Assessment 2, the student must deliver a short presentation in front of the evaluation committee.
The presentation must obligatorily include:
- the topic, aim, and objectives of the thesis;
- the modifications and improvements made following the recommendations received in Assessment 1;
- the current progress of the thesis;
- the work plan for completing the thesis.
The student should avoid repeating information already presented in Assessment 1 and should focus on the progress and updates made to the thesis.
The presentation must not exceed 10 minutes.
Supervisor’s Approval
At this stage, the student does not need to upload a separate file for the supervisor’s approval.
The progress of the thesis will be evaluated directly by the scientific supervisor, who will assess the current stage of the thesis development and assign the corresponding score for this component of the assessment.
The grade assigned by the supervisor for the progress made will be automatically integrated into the final grade calculation for Assessment 2.
Instructions for Uploading Evaluation Report No. 2
The report must be saved in PDF format and must include all the required sections: title page, student's declaration, supervisor’s approval (unsigned), abstract, table of contents, introduction, main content, conclusions, bibliography, and annexes, if applicable.
- Ensure that the PDF file is clear, readable, and complete.
- The file name must follow the format: Group_Ev2_Name_Surname.pdf.
- It is important that the file is not in "Draft" status and that it is submitted for evaluation.
- Respect the submission deadline to avoid penalties.
- In case of difficulty, contact the supervisor or consultant for assistance.

Assessment 3: Final Review of the Thesis
Assessment 3 focuses on the final review of the master's thesis before binding and the official submission of the thesis to the Department.
At this stage, the student must upload to the Moodle platform the final thesis report in PDF format. The report must include all mandatory parts of the thesis, according to the established structure (cover page, title page, student's declaration, supervisor’s approval, abstract, table of contents, introduction, main content, conclusions, bibliography, annexes).
The uploaded document may be subject to corrections if, during the review by the writing consultant, formal errors or non-compliance with formatting requirements are identified.
After corrections and final approval by the consultant, the thesis can be signed by the consultant and prepared for binding. Subsequently, the bound thesis will be signed by the head of the department.
In the version uploaded to Moodle, only the supervisor’s approval and the declaration of originality must be signed. Other sections do not require signatures in this electronic version.
Calculation of the final grade for Assessment 3: the final grade will be determined based on the supervisor’s evaluation, the evaluation of the final report, and the assessment made by the review committee.
